T.E.A.M 21 (Teach, Enrich, Achieve, Move) After-School Program Receives Award
In January, the T.E.A.M. 21 after-school program received the first annual
WOOD-TV8 Connecting with Community Award. The award recognizes an
organization or program that successfully utilizes collaboration to
improve the community. T.E.A.M. 21, a partnership between the City of
Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department, Godfrey-Lee Public Schools,
Godwin Heights Public Schools, Kelloggsville Public Schools, and
Wyoming Public Schools, relies on additional support from non-profit
organizations and local churches. The program was one of eight
well-deserving finalists for the award.
T.E.A.M. 21
operates Monday-Thursday for three hours each day. Across all ten of
its programming sites, T.E.A.M. 21 serves an average of over 500
students per day, providing academic support and homework help,
recreation and fitness activities, a variety of enrichment
opportunities, and a light dinner and small snack.
