2024-2025 Grant Peer Reviewer Application

Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) Office of Education Partnerships, OST Grants Program, in partnership with Michigan Afterschool Partnership (MASP) calls for grant reviewers to assist with the 2024-25 Out-of-School Time Grant Application selections.

Background:

The Michigan FY 2024-25 budget includes an allocation of $57 Million to support youth access to OST programs. This includes before-school, after-school, before-and-after-school, and/or summer learning in-person programming to serve children in grades K to 12. MiLEAP has announced a competitive grant process for organizations and programs providing these services. To ensure that the department selects worthy proposals, MiLEAP has teamed up with MASP to recruit grant reviewers.

Grant Reviewers:

The department is seeking grant reviewers who can evaluate applications for funding. MiLEAP will select reviewers based on their knowledge, skills, and expertise in the field of youth development and OST. Grant reviewers must be available to review grant applications from September to October 2024. Each grant reviewer will be compensated seventy-five dollars ($75) per successfully completed and submitted grant review. Because of the vast number of applications anticipated, if selected, we would like each reviewer to commit to scoring a minimum of five submitted applications.

 Functions of a grant reviewer will include, but are not limited to:

·        Thoroughly review each request for proposals (RFP)

·        Score each application on its written merits only and based on the rubric provided

·        Provide feedback on each section in the application

·        Maintain strict confidentiality in the review process

·        Commit to scoring a minimum of five applications

·        Submit all scores and notes to MiLEAP by October 18, 2024

The following are tentative meeting dates. Additional or alternative meetings may be scheduled. Each meeting will be virtual via Zoom.

Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (Meeting #2)

Application & Selection Process:

Individuals interested in serving as a 2024-25 OST grant reviewer should complete the following online application by September 18, 2024. The number of grant reviewers will be selected based on the number of submitted applications to be reviewed for the 2024-25 OST Grant Application. The department prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion in the review process.
