Afterschool Day at the Capitol

Join us as we meet with legislators to showcase the significance of Out-of-School Time in the lives of Michigan’s youth and families. We invite program staff, parents, partners, and YOUTH for a day of afterschool advocacy!

Capitol Day Schedule:

8:30 AM – Registration & Breakfast 

9:00 AM –  9:15 AM - Welcome & Brief overview of Day 

9:20 AM – 10:15 AM – Capitol Activities 

10:30 AM – Noon – Capitol Steps  

Noon – 1:00 PM – Lunch 

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Capitol Activities

If you are registering more than 10 youth, please reach out to Angelique Wilburn, angelique@miafterschool.org to receive a spreadsheet registration form link to complete. Large group registration is due Friday April 4th at 5:00 PM.

MASP must have a signed media release form on file for ALL youth attending Capitol Day. Please send completed media release forms to ryan@miafterschool.org.

We need adult volunteers to support the flow of Afterschool Day at the Capitol. If you're interested, please complete the form below after registering. We will host a volunteer orientation to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the day on April 16th. Zoom details will be sent in a follow up email. Reach out to angelique@miafterschool.org with any questions.
