Afterschool Day at the Capitol

8:30 - Registration and Breakfast
9:15-9:45 a.m. - Welcome/Overview of the Day and visit from Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist
9:45-10:45 a.m. - Capitol Activities- Options:
1) Watch session (Senate at 10 a.m.)
2) Capitol tour led (30-45 min) (2 groups)
3) Warming Up Advocacy Muscles (State Room)
4) Legislative visits (pre-scheduled or drop ins)
10:45-11- Break/Head to Capitol steps
11-11:45 a.m. – Program on the Capitol steps with Legislative Champion Awards
12-1 p.m. – LUNCH (Lawmakers invited)
12-2:30 p.m. – OST Program Exhibits in Heritage Hall Atrium
1:15-3:30 p.m. – Capitol Activities- Options:
- Watch House session (if still going on)
- Legislative visits (pre-scheduled or drop ins)
- Youth Advocacy Workshop: For Our Future (State Room)
- Capitol tours- 2:30 and 3 p.m. (40 can attend each)
